Solarplate — A revolutionary printmaking technique that uses sunlight & water to etch images that traditionally are created with lithographic stones, copper plates, & wood. Solarplates do not use acids, hazardous materials, or chemicals of other printmaking methods & environmentally friendly.
Linoleum Relief — Henri Matisse & Pablo Picasso used linoleum in the early 1900s. It became popular in 20th century German Expressionist & Russian Constructivist art movements. Images are cut on linoleum. The surface is inked, paper placed on top &printed either by rubbing manually or on a printing press.
Exhibition — Workshop artists will have the option to prepare prints for exhibition, opening reception and the opportunity to sell artworks. Invited are friends, families, & general artist community at the FACTORY, St.Pete October 2024.
The Workshop is fun, educational, & very productive! All that is needed is a creative spirit, the desire to learn new techniques, & the willingness to collaborate alongside other artists. Printmaking experience is not essential.
